About UK Pay Calculators
An independent site publishing free UK pay and entitlement calculators, with every rate traced to GOV.UK and re-checked before each tax year.
UK Pay Calculators publishes free calculators for people paid in the United Kingdom: take-home pay, tax, pensions and statutory entitlements such as holiday, maternity and redundancy pay. The site is owned and run by Extro Marketing Agency LLP, a digital marketing company based in Hubli, India, and it exists for one reason: most of the calculators already online get the details wrong, and the details are where your money is.
Why another pay calculator
When we compared the leading UK salary calculators against GOV.UK in 2026 we kept finding the same gaps. Scottish taxpayers were given English bands or a rough adjustment instead of the six Scottish bands. The withdrawal of the personal allowance above £100,000 was missing or applied to the wrong income figure. Pension contributions were treated as one thing, when net pay, relief at source and salary sacrifice give three different answers. Student loan Plan 4 and Plan 5 were often absent. And many sites were still showing the previous year's thresholds months after 6 April.
Our answer is a single, tested tax engine that every calculator shares, a data file per tax year with the GOV.UK source recorded beside each figure, and a methodology page generated from that file so the explanation can never disagree with the tool.
How figures are checked
- Every rate and threshold is taken from a GOV.UK, HMRC or Scottish Government page, never from a third-party site or from memory. The page is linked beside the figure.
- Each figure is checked a second time by an independent pass against the same official pages before it is published. Any disagreement blocks publication until it is resolved.
- The engine runs an automated test suite of hand-worked examples covering both nations, every student loan plan, the three pension methods, the £100,000 taper zone and State Pension age.
- Every calculator shows the tax year it uses and the date the rates were last verified. For 2026/27 that date is .
- New tax-year rates go live on 6 April, and Budget changes are applied from the date they take effect.
Who reviews the site
Shreyas Banakar, Founder, Extro Marketing Agency LLP, is the publisher and reviewer of record for UK Pay Calculators. He signs off each tax-year data file and each calculator before it is released. Corrections, questions about the method, and requests to see the working behind any figure go to hello@ukpaycalculators.co.uk.
What this site is not
Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice. The calculators estimate what PAYE will deduct from a salary under the published rules; they do not know your full circumstances. Financial advice in the UK is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and where we introduce readers to a regulated firm we say so clearly on the page. If your situation is unusual, HMRC's own guidance and a qualified adviser come first.
Independence and funding
The calculators are free and always will be. The site may carry advertising and may introduce readers to regulated pension or legal advisers who pay us a referral fee. Advertisers and partners have no access to the calculator code, the data files or the editorial content, and no figure on this site is ever changed for commercial reasons. Our privacy policy explains what the site does and does not collect: your salary and the other figures you enter are never sent to us.
